Theme: Technology of the Future

Mission:

Artificial intelligence is one of the most powerful technologies ever created — and it’s already changing the world around us! From helping doctors diagnose diseases to translating languages in real time, AI has incredible potential to do good. But how can Muslims use AI to help their communities and solve problems that matter to them? Your mission is to imagine and design an AI-powered tool that helps Muslims in their daily lives or solves a challenge facing Muslim communities.

Details:

Age: 8+

Groups: Individually or in pairs.

Learning aims: Introduction to artificial intelligence concepts, ethical thinking about technology, design skills, creative problem solving.

You’ll need: Pen, paper, YouTube.

Let’s Get Started!

  1. Watch a short video about what AI is and how it works. Search for “AI explained for kids” on YouTube.

  2. 2. Make a list of challenges or tasks in your daily life (or in Muslim communities) where a smart computer assistant could help.

  3. 3. Pick your favourite idea and design your AI tool. Give it a name! Sketch what it looks like and how someone would use it.

  4. 4. Think about the rules your AI should follow. What should it never do? How do you make sure it’s fair and helpful to everyone?

  5. 5. Present your AI invention to a friend or family member and explain how it helps.
